I've just finished reading this book entitled "Beauty Secrets" by Deborah Newman and Rachel Newman.
This book has revealed to every girl what is the secret to the beauty, as I journey in reading this book, I've learned a lot of things that can make every girl realize how precious she is. One of these is that every girl is created by God just the way He decided her to be, girls must not complain whether she has awful hair or a model-like body because God designed her that way 'cause those features are the ones that will attract her partner in life. Instead, everyone, not only the girls, should praise the Lord for how He designed them. (Psalm 139:14) We must love and learn to appreciate everything that God gave us.
Another thing I've learned is how important it is to take care of our body. Not in the sense that we just need to buy all the 'beauty' stuffs but caring for our body because God gave this to us for a reason. It is because, it is where the Holy Spirit would dwell and that through this body that God gave us, we can bring honor to Him. We also need to take care of our body because we'll use this in serving God and helping other people.
Lastly, I would like to share one of the most important guidelines given in the last chapters of this book. Since almost every girl of this generation loves Fashion, I would share some tips on dressing modestly:
- Bend over in front of the mirror to check if your cleavage shows. if it does, your shirt is too low cut.
- Check in a full-length mirror to make sure your shorts cover your whole bottom.
- Wear a long tank top under a shorter top without showing skin.
- Make sure your skirt or dresses are at least as long as or longer than your fingertips when your hands are down by your sides.
- Check out how high slits on dresses and skirts go up- especially when you're sitting.
- Is it see-through? Wear something under it.
- Is it clingy? Wear a jacket over it.
- If you have a healthy relationship with males in your family,ask your dad or brother if he thinks what you are wearing is okay.
- Modesty isn't about just clothes; it includes make-up,actions and hair too.
Though you show very less of your skin in the way you dress, you can still look very beautiful and attractive. As long as you reflect in your actions and words that Christ is in you, you will definitely be beautiful inside and out.
And always remember : "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." - Proverbs 31:30
God bless and stay beautiful , God's Princess :) <3
