Renewed For A Purpose

It’s almost two years since I first posted in this blog. If you are a colleague, a friend, relative or anyone that, by any chance, had a glimpse on my blog, you somehow know that I write about my style and fashion.  Remembering how I got into this- it’s my third year in college and one of my subjects required us to put up a blog of any theme or topic we want. Since I’m a fashion enthusiast, I didn’t find it hard to choose what my blog would be about. I actually included food reviews and I came to a blog name of Fashion for Food. I was still in tumblr that time since that’s where most of my classmates were into. I enjoyed the idea of posting your outfits and looking for different kind of food, writing something about and having some people to like what you have posted. (Plus I’m getting a grade for my subj too). So when I was done with my school requirements on blogging, there came to me a hunger. Yes, a hunger to write more and post more. After my semester that year, I tried looking for a good blogging platform and different fashion blogs, being so much inspired to write and post my photos of my clothes on the web. Then finally, I came up here.  My first posts here were just reposted from my tumblr and lookbook. At first, I can do my posts regularly and I’m so much amazed how some people can see the things I’m posting. But of course, I’m a student that time and I’m in my last year to be specific so my time decreased and decreased that I post once a month or in two months. Until finally, I graduated and found a job, then it took me even half a year to do another post.

I would be lying if I say that it’s just because I’m busy that’s why I can’t do any post. (Well, it really takes a lot of effort to put up an outfit that is blog-worthy, for me tho) But more than that, it’s really one of my motives on writing to, somehow, become successful in fashion blogging, getting those sponsorship and getting paid for what I’m doing. Though, I know that it’s possible to earn from blogging. But I came to a point where I was always looking for the latest trends in fashion and even coveting those stuff that are impossible for me to buy. I got so hooked that I even lost my own style because I want to be like this or that blogger.
If you've read my previous post, Press on, you might have seen that one of my goals this year is to come back to blogging. I've been praying these past weeks about this and there’s something in me that I really want to continue writing. Until last week, after doing my quiet time, I took a photo of the verses I’m studying and had the idea of just posting it on my instagram account. I have no idea but I was so amazed that even through that simplest way, I was able to share God’s word to other people. Also, as I was browsing over the net for inspirational blogs, I've found a very interesting post and just shared it in my facebook account and there again, I never thought that the Lord will move in the most unexpected ways that the simple shared post will also bring inspiration and God to other people. The feeling was so overwhelming, having to share God and His word to other people. So after thinking over those things, I feel like God is calling me to a new perspective. That is to write posts that would be inspirational and more about HIM.

It actually took me several days to come up to this post, but I really pray that God is really leading me to write more about this. Well, I was also thinking of putting up a new blog but… I believe that this blog would be a great testimony of how could change a little girl who’s obsessed with how she looks outside into a woman (I hope) who’s able to share what God is working inside her.

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." - Colossians 3:1-4

So there, I hope and pray that this post could also help you examine yourself and know where God is really leading you. Maybe you could share it so we could pray for each other?

Thank you for reading and God bless!
