Finding Ms. Right

How ironic is it that I’m a lady yet I’m writing about finding the Ms. Right. I’m not being mistaken about this and I would make it clear that I’m not mistaken about my identity as a female, I asure you that I’m 100% woman. (hehe) But yes, I really am going to share my thoughts and realizations about finding the “right” woman.

If you are woman, a lady or a girl like me, I’m pretty sure that you’ve atleast read a book or an article about finding Mr. Right. Personally, I think I’ve read a lot (as in!) and I even search over the net for this. Of course, I got a lot of ideas and I even started to form that ideal guy in mind. And in the end, I still got the conclusion that you have to pray and wait for that guy because he still might be a work in progress. That’s very true.  And I don’t get disappointed each time I read and hear such things.

For a lady like me who’s still waiting and praying (hard) for my God’s best, I can’t help sometimes to feel impatient about it. But lately, as I had a talk about this thing with a friend and my mom, there came to me a realization that made me feel like I would like to ask for the time not to go fast and to still like the time of waiting.
Why? Because, I’ve realized that if I was praying for the right man for me, I think that he too, is praying hard for the best one for him. So if he would meet me now that he has been molded by God,  I would likely say that it would be a mess. If we, women, think that we deserve nothing but the best, I think true men thinks about that too.
So before men start looking for the right women, I think that we, ourselves, should also look for the best women in us. And how would that be possible? Here are some guidelines to check:

1.       A woman does not find her worth on the things she owns and wears
-I can remember one preaching of our pastor where He showed us a 1 thousand peso bill. He asked us that, if he would give it to us, are we going to accept it? Of course, all of us give him our loudest YES. Then he crumpled it and stepped on it several times. After picking it up, he again asked us the same question. Again, without any hesitations, all of us gave him our loudest YES. The same principle goes with our worth, the things that we have and own will not change who we really are and are value. Especially in the eyes of the Lord.
2.       A woman  must know that life isn’t all about vanity
-Like what one of my favorite verses says, “Beauty is fleeting and charm is deceptive, but woman who feras the Lord shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30). Our outward appearance will all soon fade but what’s inside will remain, and if it’s the Lord that’s in us, our beauty will surely shine.
3.       A woman must know how to give herself respect
-If we would like to be respected, we must first know how to give it to ourselves. In thelightest sense, we must know how to dress ourselves properly. I’m not saying that we must put about 4-5 layers of clothes but we must always see to it that we choose to always have decency. If a man knows that you know how to value yourself, he then would value you more.
4.       A woman must be selfless
-As soon to be mothers, I believe that a mothers would say that she is full after seeing that there are 4 slices of pie and they are 5 in the family.
5.       A woman looks for long-term commitment
-A woman does not just look for someone who’s likely to have pictures with to post on social media accounts and to have someone whom she could bring over friend’s gatherings. What a woman looks for is a commitment, that means assurance to have someone who would guide her and would be with her through happy and though times.
6.       A woman knows how to submit and to support
-As to what has been commanded in Ephesians 5:22-24, “ Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.  But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.” This is God’s design for the family and the church.
7.       A woman loves unconditionally
-Not only for the women, but also for the men. If we trully give our love, it must be like from  1 Corinthians 13:4-8. We must love others how God showed us His love that even we fail Him a thousand times still His love for us remains.
8.       A true woman has an established relationship with God
-Lastly, the most important part of being the right woman. Having a relationship with God. I believe that everyone’s number one lover is God. And if we do not know how to have a relationship with God, we would also not be able to pray for our partner, be gentle in spirit in times our temper is being tested and to be still amidst all the storms that would come in our lives.

In all these guidelines, I’m honestly still a work in progress. And I know it would take me a long time to develop all these. But if we would think that it this is for our God’s best , I think that would be the sweetest part.

So what else do you think are the qualities of a Ms. Right?

Why Pity Yourself

Ever felt like you just can’t get anything you want? That somehow in your life, you feel like you’ve given your everything and still nothing happens and why do others just hit into those things so easily? Or maybe you feel like you are just a nobody that deserves nothing?

Well, you aren't alone! As a newbie in the corporate world, I struggle a lot in this area. These questions really became my questions. I felt like my name was the very last on the list- being the least. And with the things that I do, I feel like I don't deserve what I'm getting.  I started to wonder if am I really supposed to be in the place where I am now. It seems like I'm nothing and I'll never get anything. I even covet those what other people have and what they could have. In short- I pitied myself.

The feeling was horrible! But I thank God, because it is in these times that when you call upon Him, that He would surely respond to give you peace and comfort. And with that, God was able to make me realize several things and make me remember His promises. And here are the best of my realizations and reminders on how to cope up in times like this:

  • Have a thankful attitude.

Instead of counting the things that you don’t have, why not count the things that you have. Better yet, count those that money can’t buy. Surely, you are well blessed! Even try to be thankful if others also receive their blessings. God surely has a purpose why He blessed those people.

  • Remember that your reward is in heaven.

If you truly believe in God, you know that your reward isn't here on earth but it’s in heaven.  If you’ll read Psalm 73, you could see that the Psalmist talks about how the wicked people get all the best in the world while those who believes in God have to endure a lot of sufferings. Thinking about the situation, it is already a big blessing for He allows other people to gain the riches of the world to mold us, His children. You see, other people find their own securities in their material wealth but for us, we place our strength in the Lord, knowing that in everything, He would be with us, providing for us and protecting us.

  • Trust God's Heart

If in this moment you find it hard to trust God, I strongly encourage you to do so. Our minds are very very limited, but God’s isn’t! We only see our present struggles but God already knows what will happen, you just got to keep on holding on.  I could remember a song that goes “Like tapestry, He’s weaving you and me, to someday be just like Him. God is too wise to be mistaken, God is too good to be unkind. So when you don’t understand, when you don’t see His plan when you can’t trace his hand, TRUST HIS HEART.”

So why pity yourself, when you know that God is in you and He has great plans for you?  May you always remember this promise of the Lord:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11

Renewed For A Purpose

It’s almost two years since I first posted in this blog. If you are a colleague, a friend, relative or anyone that, by any chance, had a glimpse on my blog, you somehow know that I write about my style and fashion.  Remembering how I got into this- it’s my third year in college and one of my subjects required us to put up a blog of any theme or topic we want. Since I’m a fashion enthusiast, I didn’t find it hard to choose what my blog would be about. I actually included food reviews and I came to a blog name of Fashion for Food. I was still in tumblr that time since that’s where most of my classmates were into. I enjoyed the idea of posting your outfits and looking for different kind of food, writing something about and having some people to like what you have posted. (Plus I’m getting a grade for my subj too). So when I was done with my school requirements on blogging, there came to me a hunger. Yes, a hunger to write more and post more. After my semester that year, I tried looking for a good blogging platform and different fashion blogs, being so much inspired to write and post my photos of my clothes on the web. Then finally, I came up here.  My first posts here were just reposted from my tumblr and lookbook. At first, I can do my posts regularly and I’m so much amazed how some people can see the things I’m posting. But of course, I’m a student that time and I’m in my last year to be specific so my time decreased and decreased that I post once a month or in two months. Until finally, I graduated and found a job, then it took me even half a year to do another post.

I would be lying if I say that it’s just because I’m busy that’s why I can’t do any post. (Well, it really takes a lot of effort to put up an outfit that is blog-worthy, for me tho) But more than that, it’s really one of my motives on writing to, somehow, become successful in fashion blogging, getting those sponsorship and getting paid for what I’m doing. Though, I know that it’s possible to earn from blogging. But I came to a point where I was always looking for the latest trends in fashion and even coveting those stuff that are impossible for me to buy. I got so hooked that I even lost my own style because I want to be like this or that blogger.
If you've read my previous post, Press on, you might have seen that one of my goals this year is to come back to blogging. I've been praying these past weeks about this and there’s something in me that I really want to continue writing. Until last week, after doing my quiet time, I took a photo of the verses I’m studying and had the idea of just posting it on my instagram account. I have no idea but I was so amazed that even through that simplest way, I was able to share God’s word to other people. Also, as I was browsing over the net for inspirational blogs, I've found a very interesting post and just shared it in my facebook account and there again, I never thought that the Lord will move in the most unexpected ways that the simple shared post will also bring inspiration and God to other people. The feeling was so overwhelming, having to share God and His word to other people. So after thinking over those things, I feel like God is calling me to a new perspective. That is to write posts that would be inspirational and more about HIM.

It actually took me several days to come up to this post, but I really pray that God is really leading me to write more about this. Well, I was also thinking of putting up a new blog but… I believe that this blog would be a great testimony of how could change a little girl who’s obsessed with how she looks outside into a woman (I hope) who’s able to share what God is working inside her.

"Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory." - Colossians 3:1-4

So there, I hope and pray that this post could also help you examine yourself and know where God is really leading you. Maybe you could share it so we could pray for each other?

Thank you for reading and God bless!

No More Hiding

Posting this kind of outfit despite the crazy weather condition in our country. I know that this kind of style is one of the safest but this means something for me, because I can finally wear skort after a long time! If you've read it before or if you've seen my previous posts, you can see me in pants or maxi skirts for I've suffered a lot from my previous allergy attack. It left me with very very big and many scars on  my legs :( But I thank God that after several months of praying, the scars aren't that visible anymore and I regained the courage to wear such.

Like in our lives, sometimes, there are hurts, mistakes or sins we've done that we just keep on hiding in us. But if we confess it to God and let Him fix us, surely He will heal us and there is a new door that's going to open up for us.

Praying that you are all safe!

Paint The Town Red

Today, it's holiday in our city for we are celebrating our 9th Cityhood. Hooray!!! So that means I don't have to go work. That's right! I'm now a working girl. Prayers truly are heard by God. :)

Speaking of being a working person, I don't have time anymore to update my blog (pros and cons here). I only have one rest day and I feel drained that I just want to give my eyes the whole day to rest from the radiation of computers. But since it's a holiday today, I can blog about what I wore last sunday. You know me, I love dressing up on Sundays. hehe! Since I wear pants six days a week, I want to give myself a break from it on sundays and opted wearing a bohemian skirt. Comfy plus stylish indeed! :)

As of now, I'm learning the art of putting on makeup so forgive me if I murdered my face. hehe! Hope you could share to me some tips or links where I could learn more and be better next time.

Hope you're having great week!

Thank you for reading and God bless! :)

I Can

Just sharing with you a photo that I've seen over the net. It's just something to keep me motivated or inspired now that I'm about to start with my new "normal" life. I know that there will be a lot of changes and adjustments but I know that with God's guidance and focus I'll be able to accomplish any task that will be given to me. Well I do hope that you too will! :)

And to give you even more motivation, here's a verse that keeps me going through all the life challenges, hope that it can motivate you too:

"I can do all this through CHRIST who gives me strength."
-Philippians 4:13

Hope you'll have a great week ahead! :)

Thanks for reading and God bless you!

Flare

Entitled my post "Flare" because it's quite obvious that my photos have flares on it. Sorry for the low qualities of photos for I don't have a nice camera as of the moment. Well anyways, here's what I wore yesterday to church. It's my first time to wear coat and I feel matured in it. I just hope and pray that soon it will be part of my everyday dressing. hihi

Before ending this I would like to share with you a verse that greatly impacts my life, here it is:

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" - Hebrews 11:1

Like what I have mentioned in my previous posts, I really struggle about having a job. There may be job offers but there are just things that are needed to be considered and right now I know that it's about having faith that the Lord will give me the best job for me. Not only in that situation but in every area of our lives, I believe that we should put our faith and be confident that the Lord is working out the best for us.

Hope that verse could help you, in a way :)

Thank you for reading, God bless!

Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust

It's been a long time again since I last updated my blog. Honestly, I've been thinking of just stopping here since I believe that this will just be a passion and not a profession. And now that I'm a graduate, I do believe that I must give more attention to finding a stable job and be the successful person that I would really want to be. Well that's the thing that occupied my mind for the past two months, thinking that I "seriously" need a job and would just end-up being stressed thinking of all the possible outcomes. But this past few days, I have realized that lately I'm just loosing my faith. I tend to rush things up thinking negatively about my future and neglecting what God is teaching every-single day of my life. So I must put all my trust in Him for I know that He would help me reach all my dreams, little by little and slowly but surely! :)

Well here's what I wore yesterday when we went on a nature tripping. Ever since I was a little girl, every time that my brother and I would do a role playing I would surely be Tinkerbell, 'cause like her I was once brat but more than that, being someone who's there for the one she cares. So I just relived that childhood dream and wore something like Tink, but of course the modernized one! haha :)

Before ending this, I would like to share to you one of famous lines for Tinkerbell that I think best applies to me and perhaps, to you too...

"All you need is a little faith, trust, and pixie dust."

Thank You and God bless!

Graduation Dress

Yes! I'm now a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology! Praise God for that 'cause after all the years of hardships, I'm finally done with my studies. And now I'm ready to face a new chapter of my life.

So this is basically what I wore to this milestone in my life. This dress was my gradma's grad gift to me and I love it up to its last detail. A very simple blue and black peplum dress with lace details. To me this dress explains my life in college, in the bigger picture, I have lived a very simple life not including myself to so much extra-curricular activities, but looking on how I have invested my time on my academics, you'll see how much importance was given to its details.

Well now that I'm done with my school I'm now praying for an even brighter and more successful future, not only for me but for the rest of the batch 2013. Anyway, biggest CONGRATS to all who've graduated this year! Praying for all the best for you! :)

Take Care and God bless!

Sunshine Daisies Butter Mellow

As I'm looking at the files I had for the past weeks, I saw these few shots of mine that I had on my brother's graduation. So this is what I wore to the event, well it really is an event because it is like an awards night! The awards were hidden, no clues at all and guests are in a round table-like set up. Pretty cool right? I never had something like this in my entire school life though. haha! Speaking of the awards, we were all shocked when the moment of truth came, my baby brother has been their class Valedictorian! (wooooh, proud sister here guys! )

As for my look, I was supposed to wear a dress that day for it is clearly stated in the invitation to have a semi-formal attire but it's my schedule that ruined all my plans :( I need to finish all my requirements that day at school and because of that I didn't have enough time to fix myself. I just have to rush to the venue of the grad right after passing several mountains like I need a broom stick for that. (hahaha!) And to keep myself hassle-free, I just wore my ever faithful tights , printed top plus flats so I won't look so much haggard-o versosa going to the venue (talking about naiwan!) haha :))

But then again, even I had a very exhausting day I still love that day for the Lord had rewarded my brother with what his efforts deserves. Hope you enjoyed reading!

Thank you and God bless!

Summer 2013

Summer time is here again! And I feel so blessed that we finally had the time to have our vacation since we've been always busy for the past few years. So now, I'm going to share to you today what we did and the places we've been this past holidays.

The family of my brother's girlfriend invited us to come with them to their province, Bicol. We went to Camarines Norte last March 28 to 30. We actually had a very long drive that it took us about 13 hours of travel. Forgive me for I'm a first timer 'cause I'm not a fan of going on far far far away places that I always choose the malls over nature trips. Well, this trip had taught me a lot, as in a lot of things, that I'm gonna share with you later. But for now, I'll show you first the breath taking sceneries we've seen.

Day 1
( Cayucyucan Beach & Apuao Island)

As soon as we arrived in Bicol, we just ate our lunch then went straight ahead to Cayucyucan Beach, another more than 1 hour of travel going there. And because we are like zombies without any sleep and rest, we first rested for a while then later went on island hopping. We went to Apuao Island, that is about 30 mins on a boat ride from Cayucyucan. I promise I died upon seeing the island, it's so beautiful. The place is very serene. It's a perfect place to reflect and relax. The island is just small so you can go around it. At the back part of the island, the water is so warm and the Pacific Ocean is just over looking. The island even grew pine trees, makes me feel that I'm in a cold place wherein I'm actually at the beach. There are very few people in there so you can really enjoy the place. Meanwhile, the water in Cayucyucan beach is too peaceful and calm. It has very light gray sand and it's my also my first time to see sea cucumbers there.

Day 2
(Bagasbas Beach)

At noon of our second day, we went to the house of one the relatives of the family who invited us. We just rested then went to our next destination that day. They first gave us a tour around the city of Daet then went to Bagasbas Beach. This beach is a famous and a tourist spot in their place since it has big waves and surfing enthusiasts love. We just enjoyed strolling around and didn't go for a swim since it has warning there, well you can it through the photo above. After that, we went to another relative of them that invited us for a dinner at their place.

Day 3
(Mananap River)

After being at different beaches, they then toured us at a river. Again, it's my first time to see a river in person and I was greatly amazed. The water is very clean and cold. This place had been a very refreshing since the day is too hot. How I wish that people can preserve rivers like this with very very clean and clear water.

Of course, during travels like this there are a lot of things that we try so we can appreciate more the culture of a certain place. And what's best to try are their foods. We've been in a seafood diet the whole time and I promise, it's very guilt-free to eat! Fish and seafood were so fresh and one that got my taste was the flying fish. Yes you read that right! I didn't know that they are edible, and they taste really good and not even malansa. Another are the kakanin, I love their modified version of maja blanca with Pili inside. and my favorite, their balinghoy, it's a suman with niyog(coconut) inside. They also have their native version of mochi that they call as angko, also made with malagkit rice but with peanut inside. It tastes awesome too with its very cheap price. I guess, you'd never be hungry in that place for their foods are so much affordable, nutritious and delicious.

Well, that has been great adventure for us and for me personally. And like what I said earlier, this trip taught me a lot of things. Here are top 3 lessons I've learned:

1. I'm a type of person who always go for comfort and was never a type who's adventurous. This trip taught me that life isn't always about comfort, sometimes you need to endure some challenges that may come your way, especially those brought about by the nature in order to enjoy life. And putting some adventure in life will not harm you, in fact you will gain more knowledge and experience through them.

2. Giving yourself a break. Since I belong to a big family, my parents usually choose work over vacation (I cant blame their job though, it's quite  time demanding). You have whole year to work and earn for all your needs. But giving yourself at least days of vacation would surely be of great help in reviving yourself and freeing yourself from all the stress you can get in the city.

3. Lastly, like what one of our travel buddies told us, "While you have clear sight, see places. While you can walk, go to places and appreciate them, you'll never know until when you'll be able to do things you want to do. Enjoy life once in a while." God created our world beautifully and like in the book of Genesis "God saw it was good." Trully, God's works are so good and worthy to be seen and appreciated.

And last but not the least, biggest thanks to Cas Family for the awesome experience they shared to us. We even got the chance to meet other people and have travel buddies. We are so grateful that you welcomed us to your place warmly and I really appreciate their hospitality, very pinoy! :)

Having this kind of experience, my dream when I was a kid to travel has been revived. And now I'm thinking of going to explore places if God allows me to. Hope you enjoyed my tour to you through photos and learned something too. How about you, how did you spend your summer?

Thank you and God bless!

Marching Back

Here's what I wore today to church. I wore a jumpsuit with a palazzo like bottom. I topped it with a black cardigan since we are going to church. Of course we must be at our best and still have a decent look because it's God who we'll worship. :)

Time flies so fast, it's already March! And thank God that even though it's a busy month, it seems to me that my schedule so far isn't that hectic. Another thing I'm much thankful for is that I'm able to go back to our youth ministry and hoping to be back in service soon as well.

Take care and God bless!
